In this day and age of high-end 4k Televisons and 5k computer monitors, the new “norm” for product imagery is HDR (High Dymanic Range). When produced correctly through the technique of exposure bracketing within digital cameras, you can achieve results that will be visually appealing for your brands conusmers.

High quality product photography is a vital part of showcasing modern brands. We’ll highlight some of the techniques used in current Photography and Retouching processes to achieve best in class results. Why is this important you may ask? As brands continually seek ways to grow, having high quality artwork will put your brand “voice” consistenly in the spotlight.

DSLR camera sensors are improving with each new release. The ability of fully utilizing those sensors and capture large pixel data is a huge advantage for creating HDR product images.

Below are samples of 3 different exposures for OEM’s industrial controller. Exposures varied by 2/fstops to capture more highlight and shadow details. The post production then begins opening these RAW captures with Adobe Camera RAW and merging to HDR. Retouching within Photoshop is applied for additional color enhancements and lighting to bring the final image to fruiton.
